Excerpt: Chapter 3- OBAMA

I am not an Obama fan. Nor am I an Obama detractor. But one thing has to be acknowledged regarding all the criticism that he receives- after 8 years (9 if you include GW’s first campaign) where the President of a nation only spoke in front of pre-screened audiences and was never asked a difficult question, where extremely few press conferences were given, where only admittedly weak questions were asked, where the President could hardly compose a sentence… we go from GW to Obama. Evolution has never happened this quick.

There was a lot of excitement and anticipation with the election of Barack Obama. Few will forget the remarkable scene the evening of the election when almost a quarter million people poured into Chicago’s Grant Park to witness in person Obama’s Presidential victory speech. It was an historic night. And now, given some time, history, and getting to know him… just what are we supposed to make of our first African-American President?

A Harvard educated lawyer. The son of a single welfare mother. A good father and loving husband. A fine orator. Youthful. Hip. He sings. He dances. An extremely hard worker. He’s intelligent. He appears well informed on all issues. He seems thoughtful. He seems compassionate. He’s… he’s… he’s a Nazi. A NAZI??!!!!!!

*Seriously, some of his critics have called him a Nazi, and Tea Partiers have held up signs showing him with a Hitler mustache. No doubt that Hitler would have eagerly welcomed Obama and some of his Black friends in his White Aryan Race Party.

The election of Barack Obama brought out the stupid in America perhaps like nothing else could possibly ever do. And maybe that’s a good thing. To fix a problem you have to expose it first.

According to his critics, President Obama is an elitist, a traitor, the most dangerous man alive- bent on destroying the United States of America- a Socialist, a Marxist, a Maoist, a Nazi (we already knew that), a friend to terrorists, and last but not least, a Muslim- not a popular religion in America these days.

Most important of all, though, is the fact that Barack Obama is not, never was, and never will be President of the United States. Everyone knows that in order to be President of the United States you have to be born in the United States...

Excerpt: Chapter 25- EXCEPTIONALISM (UPDATED)

Observing American politics is almost like watching American Idol. Do you know how, for some, the most interesting part of the show is watching and wondering where in the world some of the contestants ever got the idea that they can sing? Well, what ever gave some- maybe even most- of our “leaders” the idea that they can lead? 

At one time or another, during the Republican Presidential Primary Michelle Bachman, Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, and Herman Cain all had the lead over Mitt Romney. Republicans were saying that they would rather have one of these not-to-be-taken serious candidates be our nation’s leader for the next four or eight years rather than have it be Mitt Romney. (You have to wonder if this has put any ideas in Steven Tyler's head for 2016.)
